The clinical centre Sächsische Schweiz Klinik Sebnitz and
the clinical centre Oberlausitzer Bergland are partners within the breast centre Ostsachsen.
They form an interdisciplinary centre of excellence for the treatment of patience with breast disease.
At the breast centre we are aiming to place special emphasis on the needs and wishes of the patients considering the specific symptoms of breast disease.
We regard each single patient as a personality that can be assured our medical help, devotion and care.
The improvement of the health-related quality of life and thus the increase in quality of life is the main target of the special departments in our hospital.
The employees of the breast centre want to support their patients in this difficult phase of life and to contribute their share by using high-quality, modern medical treatment and the best-possible therapy.
It is our aim to offer the patients the best-possible medical treatment considering the guidelines of the German Association of Breast Cancer and the German Association of Senology of the latest, authorized version and thereby achieve an increase of their health-related quality of life and rate of recovery of our patients.
The physicians, nurses and every employee involved in the process of diagnostic analysis and therapy contribute to achieving our aims by their personal commitment and their competence.
Permanent advanced training and further education are our principles.
The work of the breast centre is based on a quality-assurance system.
This includes the compliance with the latest medical standards, the application of modern and patient-protecting methods of therapy and the guarantee of a high medical competence.
The internal quality assurance system, its fundamentals and mechanisms including the people who are responsible for quality management in the departments ensure a permanent development of quality requirements and their realisation. The official certification of the breast centre ensures that all processes directly or indirectly associated with the treatment of the patients are reviewed and approved by outside control authorities.
For the employees of the breast centre this represents an appreciation of their work.
We reach our aims by working closely with all of our partners on the basis of corresponding contracts as well as by interdisciplinary teamwork.
It is the objective of the breast centre Ostsachsen (East Saxony) to care for a quality treatment for the patients who suffer from mammary gland illness. This is achieved through working with other hospitals and medical offices.
Our working together with specialists, as for example gynaecologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine but also with rehabilitation centres, therapists and self-help groups is determined by contractual agreements.
That way we always guarantee close coordination without loss of information and time delay.
In tumor conferences we discuss the courses of treatment and choose the best-possible forms of therapy. Our teams are always oriented towards the latest medical standards. The course of treatment starts with an assessment of the first symptoms and test results and continues up to an optimal aftercare on the basis of the disease pattern. The work and results of the breast centre Ostsachsen (East Saxony) are being communicated to our partners and the physicians involved in the process at regular intervals.
The certification authority of the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft e.V. (German Cancer Association) has confirmed that the breast centre Ostsachsen fulfils the professional competence and requirements of the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft and also the quality criteria of the German Association of Senology. The internal QMS of the BZOS of the clinical centre Oberlausitz was transformed into a nonprofit GmbH (Limited) in 2005. It was also certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2000.
